COLUMBIA HILLS WILDFLOWERS 2026
Stunning balsamroot and lupine carpets under golden light in the Columbia River Gorge – April 2026 field report.
Originally from California and now based in Utah, I’m a fine art landscape photographer passionate about the raw beauty of the West. My camera has taken me from Yosemite’s granite domes and the Sierra Nevada to Southern California’s spectacular spring wildflower superbloom in Anza-Borrego, Antelope Valley, and Carrizo Plain. I’m also drawn to Utah’s dramatic red rock canyons and Wasatch Mountains, the stark Mojave Desert of Death Valley, and the breathtaking waterfalls and wildflower meadows of the Columbia River Gorge.
These special places continue to inspire me with every visit. In this post, I share some of my favorite fine art photographs from these locations, along with a few tips if you’re thinking about purchasing a print or planning your own photography adventure.
