Death Valley National Park Superbloom Conditions - 2026
After heavy winter rains, Death Valley experienced one of its rare and spectacular superbloom events in 2026. Vast carpets of desert gold, purple sand verbena, and bright yellow sunflowers covered the usually barren floor and surrounding hillsides. While the main bloom has now passed peak in the lower elevations, scattered displays remain in higher canyons and protected areas.

Superblooms in Death Valley are rare and depend on perfect winter rainfall followed by mild spring temperatures. Late February to early April is typically the best window for the most intense displays.
